Every Oct. 3, the internet likes to circulate a certain screenshot from a scene where Lindsay Lohan‘s crush asks her what the date is and she replies, “It’s Oct. 3.” What better day to share it than… you get the point.
The movie’s stars have decided to take advantage of the timing, and teamed up to film a short video they tweeted Tuesday morning. Amanda Seyfried (Karen), Lacey Chabert (Gretchen), Jonathan Bennett (Aaron), and Daniel Franzese (Damian) all make appearances, and call on fans to donate to a GoFundMe they’ve set up on behalf of the shooting’s survivors. They say 100 percent of the money raised will go to the National Compassion Fund—a program in the National Center for Victims of Crime with experience distributing funds to survivors and families impacted by mass murders. They’re hoping that if each Mean Girls fan donates $3—in honor of the date—they’ll be able to reach a $300,000 fundraising goal for the organization.

In the GoFundMe description, they outline their plan:
We are working directly with the National Compassion Fund, a program in the National Center for Victims of Crime. This organization collected and distributed funds to victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting, the Aurora shooting, and even 9/11.
100% of funds raised will be distributed to the victims of Las Vegas through the NCF at the completion of this campaign.
Do something grool today. Let’s hit this goal together. We might not make fetch happen, but we can make this happen.
As of this writing, the campaign has raised over $7,000 of its total goal. But with multiple donations rolling in per minute now that the link has been shared, something tells us that number should spike as the hours roll by.
