Heres How Mark Zuckerberg Sees Facebooks New Era of Privacy

Mark Zuckerberg once promised Facebook would move fast and break things. Now Zuckerberg says Facebook is trying to fix the things it broke. Standing on stage before an audience of developers at the annual F8 Conference on Tuesday, Zuckerberg—the same guy who spent years convincing billions of people to share their every thought and action with the world—explained all the ways Facebook is going to help people keep that same information under wraps. “I believe the future is private,” the CEO said, almost as soon as he began, setting the tone for a day of product announcements across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. In his much-anticipated keynote address, Zuckerberg readily admitted he’s an odd champion for the cause of privacy, …

DOJ lays out case for striking down Obamacare in its entirety

(CNN)The Trump administration offered its first full argument Wednesday for its reversal on the Affordable Care Act, arguing in new court filings that the entire law “should not be allowed to remain in effect.” If the law is struck down, it would be a major victory for President Donald Trump, who has worked his entire presidency to wipe away a signature legislative achievement of the Obama administration. “Instead of rewriting the statute by picking and choosing which provisions to invalidate, the proper course is to strike it down in its entirety,” government lawyers wrote. This is a breaking story and will be updated. Original Article : HERE ; This post was curated & posted using : RealSpecific

Sergio Agero steers Manchester City towards title with win over Burnley

Sergio Ageros 63rd-minute goal gave Manchester City a 1-0 victory at Burnley to move them a step closer to winning the Premier League title Thirty-six games in, the title race strayed dangerously close to becoming an ordeal for Manchester City. For over an hour it had looked as though they might blink in their staring contest with Liverpool. Something had to give and Pep Guardiolas players certainly toyed with the emotions of their supporters during those passages of play when they lacked their usual sureness of touch. Except, of course, this is the team whose supporters like to sing how they will fight to the end; the team, lest it be forgotten, that once won the league with the final …

Herzog said that it didn’t appear that anyone had shot back at the perpetrator or perpetrators, whom police were still working to identify. …

Dont See Yourself on Your Emoji Keyboard? She Can Help

Before Jennifer 8. Lee started working with emoji, communicating a complex thought using only the tiny icons felt a bit like trying to color the entire world with just an eight-pack of Crayolas. You could get the gist across, but nuance was absent. These days, if you've found an emoji that feels like a mirror image of yourself, you likely have Lee to thank. And if you've found yourself longing for an emoji that does not yet exist? Lee is the person to call. Lee, who runs the emoji advocacy group Emojination, has personally had a hand in creating more than 100 new emoji, many of those showing people or cultural touchstones that previously went underrepresented. Of the new additions …

Let’s F*cking Calm Down About Kylie’s Instagram Caption Betches

I guess I will just assume my role as the Betches resident Kylie Jenner response team (of one), because today everyone on the damn internet was in a frenzy about Kylie Jenner’s Instagram tribute to Travis Scott. First of all, now that I used the phrase “everyone on the damn internet” in earnest, please change my name to Gertrude and my age to 80, effective immediately. *Shakes fist at the sky* Great, now that you all have gotten off my lawn, let’s take a moment to dissect the caption that Kylie Jenner posted in honor of Travis Scott’s birthday. Travis turned 28 years old today, and Kylie is only 21, a fact that slightly shocks me, even though I definitely …

The 8 Best Music Festivals You Havent Heard Of Betches

Having withdrawal from Coachella? Want to go to a festival you can actually afford? Same on both accounts. Live music is an expensive habit, and a lot of festivals don’t come cheap. The solution? Instead of going to a big-name festival where tickets will cost you a month’s rent in a Southern U.S. city, set your sights on a lesser-known one. These underground festivals will often pull some big names, and plenty of newcomers just waiting to be discovered. That’s the best part of a festival anyway, right? Discovering new artists because you just happen to walk by their set? That’s how I discovered Flosstradamus, one fateful Bonnaroo night. Anyway, this isn’t about me; it’s about you. Sort of. Check …

(CNN)Despite an outcry from women to ban a particular type of breast implant associated with a rare cancer, the sale of those implants will be allowed in the United States, the Food and Drug Administration announced Thursday. The cancer affects cells in the immune system and can be found around the breast implant. Acknowledging that international health agencies have been moving to ban the sale of textured implants, the FDA …

Are We Supposed To Like Taylor Swift’s New Song? Betches

Over the past decade, I’ve had a fraught relationship with Taylor Swift. While I was openly critical of Taylor during her last album/era, I haven’t always had issues with her. Back in 2013, I was thrilled to attend Taylor’s Red Tour, and I have no problem admitting that I think most of her music is great. So when Taylor Swift started teasing her big new project, I was honestly excited. I wasn’t a fan of the Reputation era, but I was ready to start fresh with 2019 Taylor. Oops. At midnight on Thursday, Taylor Swift released her new single and video, “ME!”, featuring Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco. Brendon was a perfect choice, because he’s very talented, very …
